MX5 NC Oil Filter Warning
On NC’s we do see a few oil filter sealing O rings stay on the filler housing when you remove the old oil filter. I've only ever seen it with genuine MAZDA oil filters.

The new oil filter will screw on (by only a thread or two) however it wont seal at high pressure possibly causing a leak which could result in major engine damage.
