The early model NC MX5 (2005-2006) can suffer from an engine misfire caused by damaged wiring to the coils. This is usually first noticed as an intermittent engine misfire that develops into a full misfire in time. Another symptom can be “popping” from the exhaust on overrun. MX5 Customers -

Supercharged MX5 One of our customers 2007 NC MX5 has been fitted with a Supercharger. Consequently it was necessary to complete the IM240 Emissions test.  This is equal to the Euro 3 Emissions test. The test was conducted on 24 September 2012 at the Penrith Motor Registry and comfortably passed on the first attempt. This milestone will make this Supercharged MX5 the only legally registered AND insured MX5 in Australia. We recently published and article about building up an MX5 NC as a road car/track car for one of our customers in Melbourne. Part of this write-up included the replacement of the upper inner control arm bushes to the Whiteline offset pin kit. The benefit of this is it allows for extra camber to be dialled in. Road n Track We recently built up a NC MX5 as a road car/track car for one of our customers in Melbourne. We started with an 2006 road car and completed the following work; The front upper control arms were removed and some Whiteline bushes and offset pins fitted. This allows some extra camber to be dialled in.
